Stéphane has been working in the world of event communications since 1988 as a promoter and event marketing professional.
He first learned the ropes in production alongside his father, Jacques Guertin, promoter and owner of the Sanair racetrack, where several large-scale national events took place. His father’s leadership and boldness became a constant source of inspiration, always steering him toward entrepreneurship.
He then went on to promote several cycling competitions, including the Quebec Track Championships and Les héros du samedi, a program produced by Radio-Canada, which introduced him to the world of event communications.
The City of Montreal also called on his expertise, appointing him to oversee the cycling events for the World Medical Games. He later joined the Tour de l’Île de Montréal as Deputy Director of Operations for the Montreal Cycling Classic, as well as for several other projects organized by the same group, including Canada 125.
As both a road cyclist and marathon runner, Stéphane contributed in 1991 to the revival of the Montreal Marathon, which firmly established his position in the event industry.
From 1992 to 1995, he initiated several productions and acted as consultant and coordinator of special events at the head office of the Quebec Heart Foundation.
Through these projects, he built extensive experience in event management, production, and logistics, while establishing a strong professional network in Montreal and across Canada.
In 2002, he founded Tandem Event Communications with the goal of making it a benchmark in the industry. The agency is rooted in event communications—a vast field rich with opportunities that blends strategic thinking, creativity, logistics, and management. This winning formula, paired with transparency and rigor, is what clients have come to expect from Tandem.
In 2020, still driven by the same vision of making Tandem a true reference, the agency expanded and diversified its services, becoming Tandem Communication. With a team of in-house experts, the agency now has all the resources needed to meet client needs and deliver projects end-to-end.
